40kWp, 45kVA Battery inverters and 84kWh of lithium storage.

The system is built using Victron Quattro 15000 inverters, Victron 250/100 MPPT’s, Hoymiles 1200 micro inverters, Pylontech US3000 batteries and JA solar 330W panels.

Plaisir consist of 20 flats and is completely powered by the Victron ESS (energy storage system) and by using the batteries, MPPT’s and micro inverters we are able to lower the grid consumption up to 70%. The complex is protected against power outages and the storage alone can last up to 4 hours. The common areas and security is backed up by the system as well and this will ensure that security lighting, electric fencing, CCTV and the motorised gates will continue to work during a power outage.

Plaisir is on a time of use tariff structure and due to the high cycle life of the lithium technology we are able to mitigate using power during the peak periods making a significant impact on the overall bill.

The project was completed in partnership with RenCell.

Huawei inverters supports generator integration where the solar inverter can safely operate with a generator. The system will save fuel and reduce the overall load on the generator, the inverter with the help of 3^rd party external equipment will control the amount of power generated to ensure that the generator is running safely and efficiently.

Model Melkwinkel is the ideal location for solar power as their primary loads are refrigeration and the solar system is able to make a large impact on the total kWh consumption due to the usage curve of refrigeration being similar to the production curve of solar.
